Philomath High School is home to approximately 525 students in grades 9th through 12th. We are well known for our academic and athletic accomplishments.

  • Post-Secondary Plans show that 30% of our students plan to attend a 4-year college and 60% plan to attend a 2-year college or trade school; 10% plan to enter the work field or military
  • Have had many National Merit Scholars (One to two per year the past few years)

Extra-curricular Activities:

  • Strong Fine Arts program that continually produces some of the best art work in the county, state, and for the last three years have had a student earn National honors for their art work, sculpturing, and ceramics
  • Strong Performing Arts and Theater programs
  • Strong CTE (Career Technical Education) programs such as Culinary Arts, Manufacturing Tech/CAD/Drafting/Robotics, Forestry, Health Occupations, and Business
  • FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America)
  • German Club/GAPP (German American Partnership Program) Exchange Trip
  • Broadcast Media
  • Drag Racing Team
  • Equestrian Team
  • One of the top competitive Robotics programs in the state as well as in the Northwest region
  • One of the state’s best Forestry programs –  6 State Championships

Athletics:

  • 2011 winner of the State “Oregonian Cup” (awarded to the top 4A classification school for academics/GPAs, sports teams achievements, and sportsmanship)
  • 17 different OSAA sponsored sports teams
  • Strong Athletic teams with 212 league championships
  • 29 State Championships
  • One in three students play a High School sport
  • 14 of 17 teams were in top 10 for GPAs in the State 4A classification
  • 8 out of 17 teams were in the top 5 for GPAs in the State 4A classification
  • In the last 5 years, Philomath High School has won a State Championship
  • Can dual sport

Performing Arts:

  • Two national Grammy  Awards
  • One in every six students participate in a High School play
  • One in every five students participate in choir or band
  • Band and Choir have placed multiple times in the top 4 at State competitions the past 5 years
  • 2013 Oregon West Conference top Jazz Band Award
  • Performing Arts annual student spring trip (Disneyland, Seattle, San Francisco)
