I am in my first year serving on the Philomath School Board. I was born and raised in the Philomath area. My wife, Judy, and I both graduated from Philomath High School. Judy and I have three children and 10 grandchildren, nine of whom attend Philomath schools. I am a retired Navy Commander and Systems Engineer (Northrop Grumman). June 2019

I have lived in Benton County and this school district for over 20 years and I have been honored to serve on the Board since 2003.   I am a volunteer for the Hoskins-Kings Valley RFP, the Benton County Fair Auction Committee, Benton County 4H, and our community. As a parent with four students who have graduated from the district and a stepson still in high school, I am dedicated to continue to work towards a professional and transparent environment that welcomes parents, staff, and community input in all the decisions that affect our district and our students.  I am prepared to continue to listen, research facts, and consider solutions  to maintain a Board that continues to value public education. I look forward to another term and encourage you to contact me with any questions, concerns, or ideas you have that will continue to improve the district.

June 2021

I have served on the Philomath School Board of Directors since 2017. My husband and I have two sons that attend schools in the district. Having roots that date back generations in the Philomath area as well as currently serving as the Executive Director of the Philomath Area Chamber of Commerce, I care deeply about this school district and surrounding community. Our youth are the future and we need to provide them with rich learning experiences and every opportunity to receive a high-quality, well-rounded education. I want to help students and staff succeed, and will support them toward that success through the means available to me as a board member. We are fortunate to live and learn in such a great community and I consider it a privilege to serve on the board.

June 2019

I was fortunate enough to be born and raised in Philomath, OR.  Surrounded by this amazing city and community, I have built my life and raised my son to have great pride in Philomath as well.  My son is the shining star in my life: he gives me great joy and I am immeasurably proud of him.  I am looking forward to the challenges and joys in the year that lies before me.  I love my work at both the Corvallis Clinic and LBCC.  I am passionate about bone heath, fracture prevention, and osteoporosis prevention.  I love working out and staying heathy – it is both healthy and joyful for my soul.  Being outdoors is the best!  I have been working on my fishing skills and hope to have luck hunting in the fall.  My goal is to live my life in a positive, happy, and active way in order to be the best person I can be.
